re ordination vows
As a member of the Order of Ministry it was required respecting the doctrinal statement of the United Church of Canada
"...accepts the statement as being in substance agreeable to the teaching of the Holy Scriptures"; [basis 11.2]
and to exercise ministry
"...in accordance with the scriptures, in continuity with the faith of the Church"; [basis 11.3]
where the United Church of Canada has recently indicated that approval of remit(s) respecting the 1940 Statement of Faith, the New Creed; and the Song of Faith as doctrine will remove requirement that these not be inconsistent with the Twenty Articles permitting interpretation otherwise.
In that eventuality, I give notice that as Order of Ministry within the United Church of Canada I will be in default of requirement
"...accepts the statement as being in substance agreeable to the teaching of the Holy Scriptures"; [basis 11.2]
and unable to exercise ministry
"...in accordance with the scriptures, in continuity with the faith of the Church". [basis 11.3]
My ordination by Montreal and Ottawa Conference in 1971 required the approval of the membership of conference and, if the above remit(s) is approved and my actions require the discipline of the Bay of Quinte Conference, I request that I be dealt with by the membership of conference.
